Curious about Shibari? Start Your Journey Here

My workshops offer a deeper introduction to the world of shibari and kinbaku. We focus on essential techniques, the importance of connection,  sensuality and creating a safe and respectful space for exploration. I work with different levels, from beginners to more advanced practitioners, allowing them to gradually develop their skills, personal expression  and grow with each step of the practice.

Workshops are open for all genders, body types and relationship statuses.

In addition to learning ties and rope handling, participants are also introduced to the history and cultural background of Japanese rope bondage form. Regular social activities are organised, to create a supportive community and meet likeminded. There are no levels attached to these and are purely to encourage people and spark their curiosity to expand their knowledge. Wether you have no, little or more experience within shibari and kinbaku, that is irrelevant. More important is to join us with an open mind.

Shibari and Kinbaku

Shibari is a Japanese rope art in which the body is tied using decorative and structured patterns. The word shibari simply means “to tie” in Japanese and is commonly used today to describe the technical and aesthetic practice of rope work.

The term kinbaku translates to "tight binding", refering to the more erotic, intimate and  artistic expression of Japanese rope  bondage. Today, these terms are used worldwide to describe a practice that combines technique, communication, trust, and artistic expression through rope bondage.

Supportive environment

During workshops we focus on learning shibari in a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Safety, consent, and clear communication are central to every class.

Alongside technical skills, we also pay attention to the emotional and mindful aspects of the practice, connection, presence, and trust between partners. The workshops are clothed and structured as technical learning spaces, welcoming participants who are curious about rope as a form of skill, communication, and shared experience.

Cultural Activities

Shibari is about connection, not just with a partner, but with a community. Regular 'social activities' allow you to join into a supportive group in a respectful, safe environment.

-Japanese Tea Ceremony: Fosters mindfulness and calm before or after intense rope work.

-Cultural Lecture:  The history of Hojojutsu (the samurai roots of binding) followed by a collaborative, artistic rope jam.
